Copernicus Frequently Asked Questions
Why did I get a NilObjectException?
Usually, a NilObjectException results when the screen movie settings haven't been set up correctly, or if your computer can't handle the length of screen movie you are recording. Just start up Copernicus and try again. If you still get an error, try deleting the preferences.
Why did my screen go dim?
When you are taking a screenshot or selecting an area to be used for making a screen movie, Copernicus will temporarily dim the screen. Use your mouse to click and drag, and a lit-up area will appear. You can move and resize the selection. When you're ready, double-click the selection or press enter on your keyboard.
Why do my screen movies only have a frame rate of 1 or 2?
When you enter a frame rate, you're actually specifying the maximum frame rate. It's possible that your computer is simply unable to sustain a fast enough capture. You might want to try recording a smaller region.
How do I delete the preferences file?
The Copernicus preferences file is located here:
~/Library/Preferences/Copernicus Prefs
You can delete this file to reset Copernicus to defaults.
